Bink ("Bink", "we", "us", "our") provides a tool for tracking private, informal poker games: buy-ins, cash-outs, and who owes who. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Bink, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Bink website, dashboard, and any shared ledger links.

By using Bink, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Information We Collect

Account Information

If you sign up to host games on Bink, we collect:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your phone number, if you add one for notifications
  • Authentication data handled by our sign-in provider (we never see or store your password directly)

Only hosts create an account. Players added to a game do not need to sign up.

Player Information

When a host adds a player to a game, we store the details the host provides so the player can be identified and notified:

  • Player name
  • Phone number or WhatsApp number, used to send buy-in and settlement notifications

Because this information is entered by the host rather than the player directly, hosts are responsible for having the player's permission to add them to a game. See Using Bink in our Terms & Conditions.

Game Data and Ledger Information

To run the core service, we store:

  • Game details (name, date, stakes, currency, and similar settings)
  • Buy-ins, cash-outs, and rebuys logged during a game
  • Calculated settlements (who owes who, and how much)
  • Payment confirmations (e.g. "marked as paid") that players and hosts record in the app

This data forms the ledger for a game and is visible to the host and, via a shared link, to the players in that game.

Usage Data

Like most web services, we automatically collect some technical data when you use Bink: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and timestamps. We use this for security, debugging, and understanding how the product is used.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

  • Create and manage host accounts
  • Track buy-ins, cash-outs, and calculate settlements for your games
  • Send game and settlement notifications to hosts and players by SMS or WhatsApp
  • Generate and secure shareable ledger links
  • Maintain the security and reliability of the service
  • Respond to support requests and improve the product

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use game or ledger data to serve you advertising.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored with reputable infrastructure and database providers and encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS. Access to production data is limited to the people who need it to operate Bink.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we'll notify affected users as required by applicable law.

Data Processing and Protection

We act as the data controller for account information you provide directly, and as a data processor for player information that a host enters on a player's behalf. Data is processed only for the purposes described in this policy: running games, sending notifications, and operating the service.

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and comply with our legal obligations. Game and ledger history is retained so hosts can refer back to past games unless deletion is requested. See Data Deletion below.

Third-Party Services

Bink relies on a small number of third-party services to operate:

  • Authentication and database: to manage accounts and store game and ledger data securely.
  • Messaging providers (SMS / WhatsApp): to deliver buy-in and settlement notifications to hosts and players.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers: to run the website and application.

These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function and are bound by their own privacy and security commitments. Bink does not process payments or move money on your behalf. Settlements are tracked as records only, and any actual payment happens directly between players outside of Bink.

Cookies

Bink uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and (with your consent) understand how the product is used. Full details, including how to manage your preferences, are in our Cookie Policy.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict certain processing

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@bink.live.

Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your account, personal information, or game history at any time. See our Data Deletion page for what this covers and how to submit a request.

Children's Privacy

Bink is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify hosts by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
